Man has fingers severed in Perth Amboy attack

PERTH AMBOY - Police are investigating after a man suffered slash wounds and several severed fingers late Sunday under the Victory Bridge.

Around 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Perth Amby police were notified about a person in need of help in the area of Riverview Drive near the Victory Bridge.

When officers arrived they found a man, who is not a Perth Amboy resident, with slash wounds and several severed fingers, according to city officials.

The man is receiving medical treatment at a local hospital, city officials said.

The incident remains under investigation. City officials said updates will be given as more information becomes available.

Anyone in the area of Riverview Drive and under the Victory Bridge and may have information about the incident is asked to contact the Perth Amboy Police Department at 732-442-4400.
