Silver Maple Recovery spent nearly $500,000 for upgrades at multi-facility site in Perry

PERRY TWP. – Silver Maple Recovery is up and running after a nearly yearlong building remodeling project that finished late last summer.

Bryce Loeffler, executive director of Silver Maple, said a $500,000 effort to spruce up a pair of neighboring facilities — for substance abuse rehabilitation, mental health treatment and sober living services — has done wonders.

"Upgrades have made it pleasant (for clients and employees)," said Loeffler. "We're a family-owned facility and don't treat people here like they're a court number."

How many clients can Silver Maple Recovery house?

The Silver Maple campus consists of two neighboring buildings at 205 and 207 Rohr Ave. NW in the former Hospitality House, which was an assisted living center.

The main facility can take about 40 clients — men and women — at a time, which includes 24-hour, on-site staffing and security at its main facility. There's also a 27-bed home next door for sober, long-term stays for men.

Since opening Sept. 5, 2023, Silver Maple has provided service to about 150 people, Loeffler said.

"The convenience here is that we're connected (with next-door facilities)," he said.

How long do recovering clients stay on average at Silver Maple?

The center's main detox facility typically keeps patients for 30 to 60 days, Loeffler said. The clients at the men's sober living home stay between six and 18 months.

"We're not turning anyone away, insurance or not," he said while touting Silver Maple's people-first priority.

What did the facility's $500,000 remodel consist of?

Both buildings at Silver Maple received major facelifts, according to Loeffler, who said a new recreation area, restrooms and showers were added, as well as fresh furniture, flooring, paint and handicap accessible entryways.

How many people work at Silver Maple Recovery?

Silver Maple has around 20 full-time employees, consisting of physicians, nurses, dietary specialists, counselors and administrative staff.
