'Club Kid' dances to the rhythm of its own drum and bass

Opening your film with a certified Rihanna banger is a good omen. Now — on paper, there's every reason to be wary of Club Kid, one of those manchild-must-grow-up-when-a-cute-kid-shows-up kinds of stories. Peter (I Love LA's Jordan Firstman, making his feature directorial debut), is a gay, washed-up New York City club promoter shocked to learn he's the father of a 10-year-old British kid, Arlo (Reggie Absolom, very cute and very good). Google, Meta and TikTok Sue to Block California Law Curbing Addictive Social Media for Kids

Three social media giants turned to the courts this week to contest a single California law set to go into effect in January. In separate lawsuits filed Wednesday, Google, Meta and TikTok said Assembly Bill 1709 wrongly compels them to honor California’s preferred means of presenting content to children, and substitutes the state’s judgment for that of parents. The law prohibits social media platforms from offering children things like personalized feeds and autoplay for videos. It also requires the deletion of children’s accounts with those features.

Friday's contest was only the second time in the past 17 seasons that men's college basketball replayed the natty the ensuing season. It also featured the teams responsible for three of the past four NCAA trophies.
