What is special about them is I can only get them when I am in that part of the country. It creates excitement. One brand that always excites me, and that I had a chance to enjoy again was the ice cream from the BYU Creamery. You don't have to visit the campus to get the ice cream; I have always purchased containers of it at Ream's in Springville, Utah.

Red Pine Lake in Little Cottonwood Canyon

Red Pine Lake is a beautiful alpine lake tucked high above Little Cottonwood Canyon. The trail climbs through forest, passes the turnoff to Gloria Falls, and continues upward with several great viewpoints looking back down the canyon into the Salt Lake Valley. The final stretch is steep, but the payoff is a large, stunning lake sitting in a high granite basin. You can often see wildlife along this trail, too. Red Pine lake water is clear, and the whole hike is beautiful. This trail is challenging, so it isn’t super family-friendly.
