Paxton flower shop showing off for the Illini this March

PAXTON, Ill. (WCIA) — Picket Fence Florist is supporting the Illini men’s basketball team by decorating the entire storefront.

The balloons and signs have been up in the downtown Paxton store’s windows since after Valentine’s day.

Shop owner Dawn Glad said the custom signs and decorations took about a week to make and set up, but they’re a slam dunk with customers.

“They like it a lot,” Glad said. “One tried to take the Chief, which I could make another one, but probably not that good. But yeah, so they really, really, really like it. They’ve been taking pictures of it.”

Glad says she hand painted her signs, and might even help others decorate ahead of the Illini’s sweet 16 game Thursday night. Arena is hosting a special watch party.
