Schienebeck, Morgan win events at Eagle River

Chequamegon High School seniors Robert Schienebeck and AJ Morgan placed first in events at the Eagle Relays meet at Northland Pines High School in Eagle River on Apr 25. The Eagles were the only area school to compete at the event.

Chequamegon placed fourth among the boys varsity teams, seventh in junior varsity, and seventh among the boys throwers team scores. Chequamegon placed fifth among the girls varsity teams.

“This was a fun meet for the teams as it was all relays; it really brought the kids together competing hard,” said Chequamegon Coach Mary Patterson. “We are definitely seeing a lot of improvement from these kids and personal records, which is exactly what we want as we gear up for the final month of the season.”

Schienebeck placed first in the boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.48. Teammate Winter Edberg was seventh with 20.55, and RJ Salvador was eighth with 20.80.

Schienebeck placed second in the 300 meter hurdles with 43.98. Salvador was eighth, and Edberg was 11th.

“Robert took the win looking very strong to go with a personal record, and second in 300 hurdles,” Patterson said.

Morgan placed first in the varsity boys shot put with a throw of 43-3. Teammate Greg Morgan was 19th and Ian Schloer was 24th.

Morgan also placed first in the boys discus throw with a toss of 131-4. Teammate Jeremiah Miguel was 12th.

“AJ continues to shine in the throws as he took first overall in both shot and discus improving on his discus,” Patterson said. “AJ teamed with Greg Morgan, and Jerry Miguel to win discus as a team.”

Evan Carlson placed 21st in the boys junior varsity shot put. Carlson also placed 21st in the junior varsity discus throw, where teammate Ian Schloer placed ninth.

Jarrett Heckendorf and Cooper Michalski were among the athletes in a tie for sixth place in the boys high jump. Seven athletes with a 5-2 jump. Devin Adams-Dunn was 17th.

Winter Edberg and Frank Kief tied for sixth in the boys pole vault with a 9-6.

Jackson Ernst was 16th in the boys long jump. Teammate Noah Siegmann was 20th.

RJ Salvador was 14th in the boys triple jump. Teammate Zac Roberts was 16h and Jayden Oscar was 17th.

Chequamegon placed fourth in the boys 800 meter sprint medley relay; fourth in the 4x800 meter relay; and fourth in the 4x100 meter relay. The team placed seventh in the 4x1600 meter relay, 10th in the 4x400 meter relay; and 13th in the 4x200 meter relay.

The Chequamegon boys placed fourth in the 4,000 meter distance medley relay. The boys were seventh in the boys 4x100 meter relay throwers.

GIRLS EVENTS

Delaney Hanson placed fourth in the girls long jump with 14-10. Teammate Ella Weinberger was eighth and Mallory Smith was 10th.

Mallory Smith and Clare Yunk tied for seventh in the girls pole vault with 6-0.

Ella Weinberger was eighth in the girls triple jump.

Audrina Damrow placed ninth in the girls 100 meter hurdles with time of 22.63.

Clare Yunk was 11th in the girls 300 meter hurdles. Teammate Audrina Damrow was 17th.

Ella Weinberger was 12th in the girls high jump.

Bella Taylor was 15th in the girls discus throw. Teammate Kalaniva Salvador was 18th.

Bella Taylor was 20th in the girls shot put. Teammate Kalaniva Salvador was 22nd.

The Chequamegon girls were sixth in the girls 4x100 meter relay; seventh in the 4x200 meter relay; seventh in the 4x800 meter relay; eighth in the 4x400 meter relay; and 10th in the 800 meter sprint medley relay.
