Two-year drug investigation leads to arrest of a Heltonville woman
BEDFORD– A two-year Indiana State Police drug investigation resulted in the Friday afternoon arrest of a Heltonville woman. For the last two years, the Indiana State Police received numerous tips that Kendra Banks, 33, of Heltonville, was dealing methamphetamine to Lawrence County citizens. On May 24, 2024, Drug Enforcement Section Detectives initiated a Dealing in Methamphetamine investigation in which Banks was identified as a suspect. DES Detectives used several investigative techniques during the investigation, and on May 29, 2024, Lawrence County Deputy Kenton Carter and Trooper Chance Humphrey initiated a traffic stop following an observed violation. Banks was identified as a passenger. Deputy Carter deployed his K-9 partner Roko for a vehicle sniff and as a result of the investigation, Deputy Carter and Trooper Humphrey located and seized ½ ounce of methamphetamine.
