Patriotic band concert, Memorial Day program in Garland
GARLAND — The Harold J. Crosby Community Band of Dexter will provide a concert of patriotic music on Memorial Day in Garland at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 27 at the Veterans Memorial. A memorial service will follow at 8 a.m. with several members of Post 53 American Legion participating.

Thompson Free Library book sale
DOVER-FOXCROFT — The first 2024 Ten Cent Sook Sale at the Thompson Free Library will be from May 30 to June 1. Get your summer reading now. The sale runs Thursday, May 30 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, May 31 9 a.m.to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, June 1 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The sale is in the basement of the Thompson Free Library, 186 East Main Street. Included in the sale are weeded paperbacks and hardcovers, fiction and nonfiction, children’s books, audio books, DVDs, and jigsaw puzzles. Proceeds from this sale are for children’s programming. Please make no donations for this sale. This sale is only for weeded library books, as the library basement remodeling is still in progress.

Juvenile hospitalized after falling onto rocks along Kennebec River in Waterville
WATERVILLE (WGME) -- A juvenile girl had to be flown to the hospital after falling about 25-feet onto rocks along the edge of the Kennebec River in Waterville.
