Construction has topped out on 280 East Houston Street, a 12-story residential building in Manhattan’s East Village. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by SMA Equities, the structure will span 224,809 square feet and yield 157 apartments with an average scope of 1,324 square feet, as well as 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 1,300 square feet for a community facility. The project is located on an elongated trapezoidal interior lot between Avenue A and Avenue B.

Pedestrian Robbed and Slapped in Montclair Incident
MONTCLAIR, NJ - A pedestrian was robbed and physically assaulted by two men while walking down the street earlier this week, according to Montclair Police. The Montclair Police Department reported that the incident occurred on Monday when the victim was walking north on Pine Street towards Claremont Avenue. Two men, described as one being about 6 feet tall and the other about 5 feet 10 inches, approached the victim and asked for the time.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER According to the police report, when the victim looked at his watch to check the time, one of the men unexpectedly slapped him across the face, resulting in a laceration. The perpetrators then demanded the victim to hand over his watch and tote bag, which contained medication. Montclair police are currently investigating the incident and seeking information from any witnesses or individuals who may have knowledge about the perpetrators.
