Noah Gaffney Perseveres To Stomp 'Rarely Hit' Air

Tahoe-based filmmaker Scott Gaffney shared a clip of his also Tahoe-based nephew (and local pro) Noah Gaffney doing a "massive dub back" off a rarely hit air at Palisades Tahoe, CA. Watch below.

The air is called “Goodwill’s”, according to the Squ*llywood guide, and is named after snowboarder Matt Goodwill. It is located on Granite Chief Peak, a boot-pack-required area right off Granite Chief chair.

In average Palisades Tahoe fashion, Scott Gaffney reported that the snow was not perfect powder by any means, and so any falling that happened had actual consequences.

"Even though he took the first two attempts right to his feet (this sequence is his first hit) he couldn’t ski out. Undeterred and fully determined, he hiked back around again. I could hear him up top telling someone, 'I got this.'"

Pro skier Miles Clark confirmed this, writing under his account Snowbrains that he "heard him say 'I got this,' too. Very calmly and matter of factly. Impressive feat by any standard."

Just hitting this line takes a lot of courage. It is a difficult Squ*llywood line no matter how you slice it, given the mandatory 40+ foot air. Add a trick on top of that and you have a skier making for a true hero on your hands.

The best part of this story is the ending. "On send number three he pulled off a pretty legendary stomp on this storied mountain."

And he will pull off many more, no doubt.
