As Oxford braces for the return of country music star Morgan Wallen on Saturday, the Oxford Police Department offered some information and suggestions Friday on how to deal with the influx of visitors on local roads.

OPD warned against parking on Highway 6 or any exit ramp, and that any vehicle found parked in those areas will be towed.

Wallen will perform at the Vaught-Hemmingway Stadium. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the show starts at 5:30 p.m.

Last year, Wallen was scheduled to perform two shows at the Vaught but canceled the second show after losing his voice. The cancellation came right before he was to take the stage.

No vehicles will be allowed on campus without proof of a parking permit.

After the concert, all traffic will flow out of campus, similar to football gameday traffic.

Heavy traffic before and after the concert is expected.

OPD asks that everyone “watch for officers directing traffic and to pay attention to the roads, put down phones and drive sober.”
