After Iowa 's (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) dominant 30-0 shutout of Wisconsin at Kinnick Stadium, the Hawkeyes and the Big Ten Conference unveiled the start time and TV network designation for their Week 10 road game against Northwestern (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) at the new Ryan Field on Nov. 7. In an announcement Saturday night, Iowa and the Big Ten said kickoff against the Wildcats is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT, and Fox will broadcast the game. The matchup will mark the first time Iowa has faced Northwestern since 2024 and the program's first look at the new 35,000-seat Ryan Field, which opened last month after 2 2/3rd years of construction. Predicting Iowa high school football playoffs games, IHSAA quarterfinal

The Iowa high school football playoff picture has narrowed to the final eight teams in each class as teams get set for the state quarterfinals . After the Round-of-16, just three Iowa City-area teams remain alive and will now battle for a spot in next week's state semifinal. Last week, Iowa City Liberty went to Indianola and came away with a 28-14 win behind another strong offensive performance. Solon took down Fairfield at home as Maddox Kelley proved again he's hard to slow down. And Regina, which plays its best at home, took care of Sigourney Keota, 49-13. The Spartans and Regals get one last playoff game at home, and with a win, will travel to UNI-Dome. IOWA CITY — He laid on the brand-new floor at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in pain. The crowd, of which he seems to be becoming a favorite, got quiet. But this was no injury for Jaidyn Coon . Just a calf cramp. That showed how active the freshman from Storm Lake was Tuesday night in the Iowa men’s basketball team’s 76-54 season-opening win over Lipscomb. Not to mention how much court time the 6-foot-6 wing received. He started the second half for the Hawkeyes in place of Isaia Howard, who picked up three first-half fouls in a generally ineffective performance. Coon finished with 12 points and six rebounds in 18 minutes, including a couple of lob dunks that showed off his athleticism. Throw in that he had a team-leading plus-minus rating of plus-22, and that’s a heck of a college basketball debut. “I just want to win the ballgame,” Coon said. “I want to go in, do my job whenever I hear my number called from Coach. Iowa football sends well wishes to Campbell family, Jack Campbell

IOWA CITY — Luke Gaffney still follows a lot of the leadership skills he learned from former Hawkeye Jack Campbell. Gaffney was a freshman walk-on defensive lineman in 2022, Campbell’s senior year at Iowa. “I don't think that there's really anything quite like it,” Gaffney said. “He's still a leader to this day for a lot of us here.” The Hawkeyes have been rallying around Campbell and his family, following the Detroit Lions linebacker’s serious injury against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. According to Lions head coach Dan Campbell, Jack has been “improving,” he said on a Detroit radio station Tuesday morning. Jack was transferred to a local hospital in Minnesota following his injury, where he currently remains while recovering from the injury. “We’ll acknowledge it and understand what it is,” Dan said on Detroit’s 97.1 FM , about addressing the situation during the Lions’ team meeting Wednesday. “It’s not easy because he’s going to always be on our minds over here.” Jack played in 43 games for the Hawkeyes over four years, starting in 28.
