Shoutout to Green Grants
I’d like to recognize and thank the Town of Telluride Green Grants program for their assistance in helping me replace a very old and inefficient boiler/domestic hot water system at my 50-year-old condo. I now have a modern system that is expected to decrease energy usage by 50%, and I have replaced the domestic hot water tank with an “on demand” system.
Area reservoir’s dam is degrading, but not expected to fail
Norwood Town Manager Deana Sheriff says there’s no threat of the Gurley Reservoir dam failing, but an area of degrading slope needs a significant repair this year. The 300-acre lake is over 100 years old and has a water storage of 10,000 acre-feet to supply water to hundreds of people in the Town of Norwood and irrigate thousands of crop acres.
Take care of you health this off-season, Telluride
As the Primary Care Medical Director at Telluride Regional Medical Center (TMC), I have the privilege of being at the frontline of community health. We believe that prevention is the foundation of wellness. Our providers recommend annual well visits for all age groups to strengthen the Patient-Provider relationship and develop a comprehensive individual health plan. Since the Covid 19 pandemic, less than half of our patients are coming in for their annual well exam.
Raíces Sin Fronteras
Over spring break in Telluride, the San Miguel County-based organization Raíces Sin Fronteras worked with four officials from the Guatemalan Consulate in Denver to help 140 people from Colorado and surrounding states obtain missing documentation in a first-time-ever event. (Courtesy photo)
