Rabun County Commissioners pass Resolution of Appreciation for Andy and Deborah Hunter
Andy’s Market on Rickman Street in Clayton is closing at the end of May. At their monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, the Rabun County Board of Commissioners passed a resolution of appreciation for Andy and Deborah Hunter, says Commission Chairman Greg James. “Oh, it was such a great pleasure for the Board of Commissioners to do that resolution! I’ve known Andy all my life, we actually went through 12 years of school together. But he has been a pillar and he and certainly his wife, Deborah, have been wonderful to this community and have owned and operated that store for 40 years and have helped people out and they’re just really good people. The public is going to miss them but I think everybody is actually pleased that they are going into retirement and can spend more time traveling and with family and it is something that was due. It was a great pleasure to have honored Any Hunter, Deborah Hunter, and their family.” The Hunters were joined by their kids and grandkids at the meeting to accept the resolution of appreciation.
