Three area individuals are chasing major career milestones this week in high school spring sports.

Longtime Clay softball coach Brenda Radabaugh is nearing 600 career victories, Evergreen senior softball catcher Macy Chamberlin has a shot at Ohio's career home run record of 60, and Ottawa Hills senior lacrosse attacker Reece Hill is approaching the state record of 214 career goals.

Radabaugh , who is in her 32nd season as a head coach, has posted an overall 597-232 record, including 444-174 in 22-plus seasons at Clay (2001-24). Earlier, she was 153-58 overall in nine seasons at Central Catholic (1992-2000).

With their coach needing three wins to hit No. 600, this week, the Eagles have four games on the schedule.

On Monday, Clay plays at heavily favored Anthony Wayne — ranked No. 2 in Ohio in Division I and No. 8 nationally — in a Northern Lakes League crossover matchup.

The Eagles then host Southview on Wednesday and play at Fremont Ross on Friday (both NLL Cardinal Division games) before hosting Defiance in a nonleague test Saturday at noon.

Radabaugh's teams have won 14 league championships, including a City League crown at Central in 2000, and the other 13 at Clay (Great Lakes League 2001-03; CL 2006-07 and 2009-10; Three Rivers Athletic Conference 2013-17, 2019).

She also also guided seven teams to D-I district titles (Central 1998; Clay 2002, 2009, 2013-14, 2016, 2019).

Chamberlin , who also plays basketball for the Vikings, has signed to play softball at Penn State University.

She entered the 2024 season with 42 career home runs, and is now within three of tying the Ohio career record of 60 set by Hope Straight of Mount Vernon High School from 2016-19.

The Evergreen catcher is having her fourth straight stellar season, despite receiving an abundance of intentional walks from opposing pitchers through the Vikings' first 15 games.

After going 6-for-6 in Evergreen's two games at the Prebis Invitational in LaGrange, Ohio, on Saturday, Chamberlin lifted her season batting average to .800 (28-for-35).

In the Vikings' 14-4 loss to Akron Hoban, she was 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, and in a 10-7 win over Avon, she was 3-for-3 with a homer (career No. 57) and two RBI.

She has been walked 25 times in 60 plate appearances and has 15 home runs and 30 RBIs, striking out just once this season. Her career batting average stands at .704 (150-for-213), currently the third highest in Ohio history.

Evergreen has Northwest Ohio Athletic League games set for Monday at Archbold and Wednesday at Bryan, and has nonleague games at home on Thursday against Edgerton and Friday versus Fairview.

Hill, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound attacker, tallied five goals in Ottawa Hills' 16-13 win over Northview on Saturday, bring him to 209 career goals, five shy of the all-time Ohio boys record.

That mark of 214 was set between 2021-23 by Ethan Haney of New Concord John Glenn.

Hill put himself in position for the state record by scoring 96 goals last season for the Green Bears (7-4), and 38 more so far this year. Ottawa Hills has five regular season games remaining, plus Division II tournament play.

The Green Bears play at Clay (3-6) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and travel to Columbus on Saturday for a noon game at second-ranked Bishop Watterson (12-2).
