Norse score big, win two of three
The Whitehall softball team started the week hot, outscoring Alma Center Lincoln 32-1 in a doubleheader sweep before falling to Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran. The Norse swept last week Monday’s road doubleheader by scores of 15-0 and 17-1. The team lost, 9-6, the following day at Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran.

With the closure of HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital, the community garden on its property needs to find a new location. Norse baseball team wins two of three
After a loss to start the week, the Whitehall baseball team won two games. All three contests were close as the Norse struggled at the plate in a 3-0 loss to Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran last week Monday. The team got the winning run to cross the plate in the bottom of the seventh to beat Osseo-Fairchild, 3-2, on Tuesday before it held off Alma Center Lincoln for a 5-3 win on Friday.
No one is hurt after Eau Claire fire
EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) - No one is hurt after a house fire on the North side of Eau Claire Saturday evening. According to the Eau Claire Fire Department, the fire happened on on Monroe Street around 5:50 p.m. Crews responded to a fire in the garage of a home and those inside were told to evacuate. When responders arrived, smoke and fire could be seen coming from the garage. There were no reported injuries.
