OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Last season, the Wisconsin Herd finished 11-21, but would regroup this year with a 17-17 record, marking the Herd’s second-most regular season wins in six years.

A lot of that success can be credited to first-year head coach Beno Udrih, who spent 13 years as a player in the NBA. But, Udrih wasn’t the only experienced figure that played a catalyst in Wisconsin’s turnaround season. In fact, the Herd rostered a pair of players who were drafted to the league prior to 2017, the first time that has happened in two years.

Those two veterans were 2014 second-round pick Glenn Robinson III and 2016 first-round pick Marquese Chriss. Despite losing Chriss to injury toward the back half of the season, both vets played a large role in Wisconsin’s late postseason push.

Check out how Robinson III and Chriss balanced their desire to make it back to the NBA, while embodying the role of leaders on a developmental squad, in the video above.
