Boys golf plays at Osceola, Ladysmith

The Hayward Hurricanes boys golf team placed second in a nine-hole meet with St. Croix Falls at Krooked Creek in Osceola Monday April 15.

The hosts carded 171 while the varsity Canes finished with 178. The Hayward JV scored 183.

Noah Engquist of St. Croix Falls was the medallist with a round of 40. ,

Junior Shane Roach led the Canes, placing third with a 43. George Taylor shot a 43 for the JV team, Guy Swenson carded 44, Keegan Walsh and Fred Principe both shot 45s Gavin Hand shot 46, Kaydon Kennell 47, Liam Aldoff 47, Izaak Wellauer 48, and Darren Cofford 50

On Thursday April 11, the Canes played nine holes at Tee-Away in Ladysmith. The host Lumberjacks posted a varsity score of 168 while the Canes finished with 176.

Sophomore Liam Aldoff led the Hurricanes, shooting a 42 to place third overall.

Sophomores Preston Sullivan and Gavin Hand each shot 43, juniors George Taylor and Carter Roach each carded 44, sophomore Darren Clifford and junior Izaak Wellauer each finished with a 45, sophomore Keegan Walsh had a 47, junior Guy Swenson shot 49 and senior Nate Olson finished with a 56.

The Hayward JV defeated the Ladysmith JV, 177 to 236.
