Update: Flood advisory extended for large portion of Big Island
Update at 4:41 p.m. May 14: The flood advisory in effect for a large portion of the Big Island has been extended until 7 p.m. At 3:46 p.m., National Weather Service radar indicated slow moving heavy rain showers continuing mainly over the upper slopes of the Hilo, South Kohala and Kona districts. The heaviest rain was falling near Waikii at a rate of up to 2 inches per hour.
