Expecting multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday
Another quiet, mild night awaits us to round out the weekend with partly cloudy skies overhead. We're gearing up for multiple rounds of thunderstorms starting on Monday. The first half of tomorrow will feature partly cloudy skies and highs approaching 90F, especially for those south of US-30. The first round of wet weather kicks into gear late Monday evening and overnight with scattered thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rain and possibly hail. A brief dry spell takes over Tuesday during the daytime with highs back in the upper 80s, but then the second round of more widespread thunderstorms occurs late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. This second round will pose the greatest risk for severe weather; damaging winds and downpours are the likely threats, but nothing is off the table. Our third and final round of rain occurs in the late afternoon into the evening of Wednesday, but no severe weather is expected with this particular segment of storms. Thursday and Friday are drier, albeit cooler, than the start of the week.
