Summer’s Coming!
Summer’s coming, and there’s no better sign of that than all of the fun summer eateries opening back up. The Place, 901 Boston Post Road, Guilford, planned its opening for Friday, April 26. They remain BYOB with soft drinks available, cash or check only, and their regular hours, weather permitting, Monday through Thursday 5 to 9 p.m., Friday 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday, 1 to 10 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 9 p.m. Lobster Landing, 152 Commerce Street, Clinton, has re-opened after a small delay due to repairs needed. Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), and Hendrick’s Gin joined forces on April 3 at the Madison Beach Hotel for its monthly Crow’s Nest Cocktail Club. Under the guidance of Lead Bartender Mike Mills, attendees were treated to the venue’s innovative creation of the month, a cocktail aptly named Spring Is in the Air. The session highlighted Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret as the star ingredient, which was artfully combined with amaro and Aperol to craft a unique blend that perfectly encapsulates the essence of spring. “This initiative showcases the versatility of Hendrick’s Gin and solidifies Madison Beach Hotel’s reputation as a hub for cocktail enthusiasts seeking new and exciting experiences,” said Stacey Pabst, Trade Development Manager — William Grant, CDI. Madison Pairing Dinner Highlights Casamigos Tequilas
Brescome Barton hosted a pairing dinner featuring Casamigos Tequila at Comomango Mexican Kitchen & Cantina in Madison on March 20. Special guest Lee Einsidler, CEO, Casamigos Tequila, was on-site to provide guests with an educational exploration of the tequila line, joined by Brescome Barton’s Gene Sepe, President and CEO; Veronica Saurett, Account Development Manager; and members of the Brescome Barton sales team. Guests enjoyed four courses of cuisine prepared by the culinary team at Comomango, each paired with a different expression of Casamigos Tequila. During the evening, guests tasted Casamigos Tequila in Blanco, Cristalino Reposado and Añejo expressions. Casamigos was famously founded by actor George Clooney along with entrepreneur friends and partners Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman. The brand was sold to Diageo in 2017 and is distributed in Connecticut by Brescome Barton.
