Five Free and Cheap Family Things To Do in Middle Tennessee
Hear me out when I say there are two events called Cicada Celebration on the list this week. It is rare (say, like every 13 or 17 years) that one gets to attend any event named such a thing, and your little one may be out of the house by then. (Sorry if that was a hard punch to your heart.) If your kids are at all fascinated by these creatures, head over to Warner Park or Shelby Bottoms Nature Center and learn all about them. There are also cuter creatures on the list this week — though I think there’s a certain cuteness about cicada eyes. You can learn about migratory birds at Warner Park or pet some cute goats at East Nashville Brew Works. And if animals aren’t your bag, there’s a classical dance storytime at the library on the east side of town.
