Thunder Hold On For Game 1 Win Over Pelicans, 94-92

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 28 points and Chet Holmgren earned a double-double in a 94-92 win over the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday night in Game 1 from Paycom Center in Oklahoma City.

OKC was down 90-88 with 3:34 left in the game after a Brandon Ingram bucket, and then SGA took over. He tied the game at 90-90 with 1:36 left from 20 feet, and then gave the Thunder a 93-90 lead on an acrobatic floater and follow-up free throw.

New Orleans was competitive throughout the game, leading several times on the Thunder's home court. They were led in scoring by Trey Murphy III and C.J. McCollum with 21 and 20 points each, respectively.

For Oklahoma City, SGA was followed in scoring by Jalen Williams with 19 points and Holmgren with 15. Holmgren led the team with 11 rebounds.

Game 2 in this series happens at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Paycom Center.
