Red hockey team defeats Weber County Wednesday 11-0
The Red hockey team defeated Weber County on Wednesday evening 11-0 at the Park City Ice Arena. Red players Ian Marsland and Leo Vanvelkenburgh led the charge, pouring in two goals, and a goal and two assists, respectively. Park City Head Coach Mike Adamek lauded his team’s performance, saying, “Our players showed up to play with a little chip on their shoulders, and it showed. We played a nearly flawless offensive game. … Good all-around night for us.” Next up for the Red team are the South County Black Ice Llamas, who they’ll take on next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., also at the Park City Ice Arena.

Rams to play girl/boy hoops tonight at Ogden

Syracuse Community Center Announces New Year Registration for Sports Leagues and Art Classes
The Parks and Recreation department has released updates for the upcoming year. Registration for the Pickleball League opens on January 1st for residents and January 8th for non-residents, closing on January 21st. The six-week league begins the week of January 29th at the Syracuse Community Center, costing $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents.
Weber State beats Navajo Tech 107–45
Weber State University’s men’s basketball team hosted Navajo Technical University at the Dee Events Center on Nov. 28 after competing in the Atlantic Slam, a three-game weekend in Moncton, New Brunswick. After winning one and losing two in the Atlantic Slam, the Wildcats bounced back with a 107–45 win over Navajo Tech.

Davis boys basketball looking to regain championship-level form
After going through a bit of a rebuilding year last season, the Davis boys basketball team wants to get back to doing what it did so well two seasons ago: dominating. Davis was 14-12 last season, including 6-6 in Region 1, tying for fourth place in the six-team league. The 14 wins broke a streak of three consecutive 20-win seasons for the Darts. Davis had a cumulative total of 90 more points than its opponents and lost to Lone Peak in the quarterfinals of the Class 6A state tournament.

In a highly anticipated match at the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament, Weber State University’s women’s volleyball team, for the third time in school history, faced off against Brigham Young University. Farmington girls basketball begins season with new coach and new look
Farmington will roll out a new varsity lineup as well as a new head coach this year after legendary coach Van Price retired following last season. “We don’t have a ton of varsity game time experience, so we are trying to get that experience in practice,” said head coach Tara Ferrin. “Our focus is on playing as a team and working to control what we have the ability to control and that is our effort.”
