Wyatt Hosick: March's Elks Student of the Month
Wyatt Hosick, a 2024 graduate of Cozad High School, was selected as one of the two Elks Students of the Month for March. Wyatt is the son of Trent and Elsie Hosick. Elks Lodge No. 2250 in Cozad honors senior students in Dawson County each school year. School counselors from Cozad, Gothenburg, Eustis-Farnam, and Lexington hold meetings periodically throughout the school year where the Elks Students of the Month (ESMs) are chosen.

LEXINGTON — Two incumbents and one newcomer took the top votes in the race for seats on the Lexington Regional Health Center board of directors on Tuesday, May 14. Founded in 1976 as the Tri-County Hospital, the Lexington Regional Health Center (LRHC) is now a political subdivision with voting stakes in Dawson and Gosper counties. Lexington, Neb. - The Lexington Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Jimmy Bran-Lopez last week. According to officials, Lopez is wanted for first-degree false imprisonment, third-degree sexual assault, and felony child abuse. The charges stem from a thorough investigation conducted by law enforcement officers. Due to the severity of the charges, Lopez is considered potentially dangerous, and the public is advised not to approach him.
A round of midweek thunderstorms
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Showers and thunderstorms in the western part of the Local 4 area Tuesday evening, will gradually lose there steam once the sun sets. After a lull overnight, an upper level low and adjacent cold front will trigger a couple of waves of thunderstorms on Wednesday. The first is expected to develop mid morning into the forenoon over Central Nebraska, pushing into eastern areas of the state through the afternoon. An approaching cold front will produce another line of storms late afternoon, that is projected to sweep through the Tri-Cities by early evening, before sweeping east into the Lincoln area by late evening.
