Outstanding Volunteer Awarded to Joann Parker
Joann Parker of Cozad, a volunteer for Central Plains Home Health & Hospice, was recently honored as an outstanding volunteer at the annual Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCA) banquet on March 20th, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Each year, NHPCA recognizes volunteers who provide outstanding volunteer services during the previous year at a Nebraska hospice agency.

Haymaker Golf has Sucessful Week
The Haymaker boy’s golf team had a busy week despite the weather. On Tuesday, April 23 the team headed to Holdrege for the Duster Invite, before attending the Dawson County Triangular that was held in Gothenburg on Thursday, April 25, to finish out their week. The Broken Bow invite was postponed and a makeup date has not been set yet. The results are as follows.
Mexican national sentenced to 17 years for Nebraska drug trafficking, faces deportation
OMAHA, Neb. — A Mexican national will spend over 17 years in a Nebraska prison for inter-state drug trafficking. According to the United States Attorney’s office, Fausto Antonia Castro Mendoza, 37, of Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha, after having pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Nebraska pharmacist’s license revoked after being convicted of fraud
LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - A Nebraska pharmacist convicted of making a fraudulent statement in connection with healthcare services no longer has a license to practice medicine. In a release, Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers’ office says Danelle Charf was sentenced in federal court last November for “making a false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement in connection with healthcare services following criminal action by the United States Attorney’s Office.”
