PEARL — Cole Tingle's sunglasses couldn't hide his emotions following Game 2 of the MHSAA Class 2A championship on Thursday at Trustmark Park. The senior helped deliver Resurrection Catholic back-to-back state championships with a 10-1 victory over West Union. Tingle allowed two hits with five strikeouts and went 1-of-4 with two RBIs. Resurrection Catholic won 8-7 in Game 1.

Patriots sink Admirals to approach state championship
Lewisburg can take the title with a Thursday night victory. The Lewisburg baseball Patriots battled through a masterful pitching battle with the Gulfport Admirals and came away with a 2-1 game one victory Tuesday night in the MHSAA 6A state baseball championship series. Cayden Baker pitched six and two-thirds innings of two-hit baseball to earn the victory. Talon Haley came in to get the final out and preserve the Patriots first-round conquest.
