PEARL — Cole Tingle's sunglasses couldn't hide his emotions following Game 2 of the MHSAA Class 2A championship on Thursday at Trustmark Park. The senior helped deliver Resurrection Catholic back-to-back state championships with a 10-1 victory over West Union. Tingle allowed two hits with five strikeouts and went 1-of-4 with two RBIs. Resurrection Catholic won 8-7 in Game 1.

Herchenhahn has been a staple of basketball not just on the Coast, but across the state as well. She’s been at the helm of the Panthers program for the last seven years, but has 26 years of coaching behind her — 16 of those as a head coach.

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Biloxi’s $36 million baseball stadium known as MGM Park is likely changing names soon. A WLOX investigative report in March showed 2022 revenues paid to Biloxi from events at MGM Park were less than half of what the city needed to cover its annual $1.2 million construction bond.

Lewisburg can take the title with a Thursday night victory. The Lewisburg baseball Patriots battled through a masterful pitching battle with the Gulfport Admirals and came away with a 2-1 game one victory Tuesday night in the MHSAA 6A state baseball championship series. Cayden Baker pitched six and two-thirds innings of two-hit baseball to earn the victory. Talon Haley came in to get the final out and preserve the Patriots first-round conquest.

SUMMARY: The Pensacola Blue Wahoos defeated the Biloxi Shuckers 4-3 on Wednesday night, with late home runs from Will Banfield and Norel González securing the win. Luis Palacios pitched for 7.0 innings with eight strikeouts, while Sean Reynolds earned his league-leading eighth save. The Blue Wahoos now lead the South Division by 5.0 games over the Shuckers with 22 games remaining in the first half.

After attracting national attention because of the MGM Park name, Beau Rivage President Brandon Dardeau says he sees this move as a way to help the city pay for some of the operating costs for the stadium.
