Danbury townspeople relocate, turn train depot into a museum
DANBURY, Neb. (KOLN) - In 1888, the Danbury train depot was built alongside the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. When the railroad stopped using the depot, they considered tearing down the two-story building in the late 1970s. Instead, the townspeople rallied together to preserve it as the Danbury Depot Museum.

Mid Plain’s Community College takes 4th at national shooting competition
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - The Mid-Plains Community College Shooting Club has returned from nationals with two Top 10 finishes. MPCC Shooting Club members Nevayah Jones and Blayzon Mooney of McCook, David Cudzilo of North Platte, and Hoyt Dancer of Sutherland competed at the Association of College Unions International and Scholastic Clay Target Program National Championships in San Antonio, Texas from March 18 to March 23.
Registration Days will begin in April at MPCC
Mid-Plains Community College has announced its schedule for upcoming Registration Days. The events, which are designed to give prospective students an opportunity to sign up for classes, meet with faculty and staff and receive the information needed to begin coursework in the fall, will start in April and continue through the summer.
Teens sentenced for fire that damaged Atwood school
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Two teens have been sentenced for a fire that severely damaged Rawlins County Junior-Senior High School in Atwood last summer. The Goodland Star News reports a 13- and 14-year-old were convicted of charges including arson in connection to the fire. They had been charged with 15 felony counts.

ATWOOD, Kan. (KAKE) - Two juveniles will spend 30 months behind bars for their roles in connection to a fire at a Northwest Kansas school in June of 2023. The suspects, now aged 13 and 14, were found guilty of aggravated arson and attempted arson regarding their roles in a fire at the Rawlins County Junior/Senior High School on June 5, 2023. The fire resulted in severe damage to the building, as well as injuring 10 firefighters, and USD 105 Rawlins County being forced to implement alternative measures for students in the upcoming school year.
