A suspect has been arrested after allegedly stealing more than $1,200 in merchandise at Walmart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages. Kirt Clark, 42, of Clermont, was arrested after fleeing the store in a silver Ford Escape at about 8:30 am. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Hearing to vacate Shona Wallace verdict
Attorneys for Shona Wallace are asking a Seminole County judge to vacate her guilty verdict, which would essentially strike it from the record. Wallace was convicted of killing a toddler in a crash in Altamonte Springs. Wallace died in April, just days before her sentencing. Prosecutors say Wallace was under the influence of fentanyl when her car jumped the curb and crashed into the toddler's family. If a judge agrees, that would take the conviction off the record.
Orlando mother of 10-year-old accused of killing neighbor pleads no contest to charges
ORANGE CITY, Fla. — An Orlando woman whose 10-year-old daughter allegedly shot a woman to death has worked out a deal with prosecutors.
