VIDEO: Dirt bikes participate in illegal sideshow in Oakland resulting in crash

( KRON ) – Around 50 ATVs/dirt bikes participated in illegal sideshows in Oakland on Sunday, according to the Oakland Police Department.

OPD was notified of dozens of dirt bikes in the area of Bellevue and Grand Avenues just after 1:15 p.m. on Sunday. Police said a short time after OPD received another call of 50 dirt bikes and ATVs circling Lake Merritt and other ATVs riding on the sidewalk and driving in the opposite direction of traffic.

Around 1:45 p.m., OPD was informed of 50 dirt bikes in the area of 73rd Avenue and International Boulevard. Additional officers were deployed to contain the sideshow activity.

Anyone with information regarding illegal sideshows, including vehicles and individuals involved in this activity, is asked to email sideshowtips@oaklandca.gov.
