Missing 12-year-old girl last seen in Oakland safely located

( KRON ) — A missing girl reported out of Oakland Tuesday has been safely located, the Oakland Police Department announced Wednesday. Sanyah Evans, 12, was last seen on Monday, April 15 around 9:15 p.m. on the 4500 block of Thompson Street.

Sanyah is described as a Black girl who is 5-foot-2 and weighs 170 pounds, according to OPD. She was last seen wearing an orange hoodie, orange sweatpants and a black bonnet.

Sanyah was considered at-risk due to her age, OPD said. Her family reports that she is in “good mental and physical health.”

“Thanks to our community and media partners, Sanyah Evans is no longer a missing person,” OPD tweeted Wednesday. “She has been safely located.

OPD first tweeted about Sanyah’s disappearance at 12:55 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information about Sanyah’s whereabouts is asked to call OPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 510-238-3641.
