SOUTHEAST — Another reinforcing shot of cold air may head south across the eastern half of the country from November 15 through 17. Long-range model guidance shows temperatures falling into the 20s and low 30s across parts of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, and the Carolinas. This remains long-range potential rather than a locked-in forecast, and timing and temperatures could still change.

Democrats sweep Cabarrus school board seats; voters reject bonds

Democrats won all three contested seats on the Cabarrus County school board Tuesday, reflecting the party's wins down the ballot in a historically Republican-dominated county. Incumbent Pam Escobar will remain on the board. She was the only incumbent of the six candidates — Democrat Sam Treadaway and Republican Shannon Lancaster declined to seek reelection. Escobar took the largest share of the vote total at 19%, according to unofficial election results Tuesday night.
