Area students awarded scholarships from The Links
Two area students have been awarded the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Scholarship given annually by the Wilson-Rocky Mount-Tarboro Chapter of The Links. Jade Brown, a student at South Central High School in Greenville, and Patrice McGrue, a student at Rocky Mount High School were recognized for dedication to their studies and contributions to their respective school communities. Brown aspires to become a physician therapist, aiming to impact the collegiate or professional level. McGrue has plans to become a pediatric nurse to provide quality health care and support children with medical needs. Both will attend North Carolina Central University in Durham in the fall. The scholarship is awarded to exceptional high school students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community commitment.
