Hartland High's Aquatic Center reopens after $870K renovation
HARTLAND — The Hartland High School competitive and leisure pools are back in operation following a $870,000 renovation that took just six weeks to complete. The pools closed March 18 and reopened May 1 following several structural and aesthetic upgrades, including a new humidification and ventilation system, LED lighting, roof repairs and a fresh coat of paint throughout both pools, including aquatic toys in the leisure pool. The competitive pool’s scoreboard was also replaced.
Canton Township Man Charged After 17-Hour Standoff with Police
A Canton Township man has been slapped with felony charges after he was holed up in a standoff with cops that stretched nearly a full day, authorities said. The man, identified as 39-year-old Scott Earl Hoover, is accused of barracading himself in his home with a handgun during a domestic dispute.

DEARBORN, Mich. – A man accused of running an illegal dental clinic in his Dearborn basement has been sentenced for a deadly shooting. The shooting happened in July 2023 in a Dearborn neighborhood on Olmstead Street, near the city’s downtown.
