Law enforcement agencies in East Alabama are intensifying their efforts to locate 60-year-old Michael Thompson, who was last seen on April 14th, after possible blood stains were found in his Tallassee home.

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - Neighbors say White Oak is a quiet and safe neighborhood but robberies can happen anytime and anywhere. Linda Lawler, posted videos from her home security system of three individuals walking through her backyard and climbing the side of her home, using a crowbar to break open a window. Neighbor, Mike Coggin says this is not the first incident in White Oaks.
Class of 1974 celebrates at the new Tallassee High
Things should change as 50 years elapse. Belts get a little longer. Children turn into parents. Old schools are torn down and new ones are built. Over the weekend the Tallassee High School Class of 1974 took time to remember those no longer with them and the memories. The old wooden school is gone. In its place a new modern school, but things are still familiar even 50 years later. The class came together to tour the new Tallassee High School as part of its reunion.
1 killed in weekend Macon County motorcycle crash
MACON COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) - A motorcyclist died following a weekend crash in Macon County, according to the sheriff’s office. The victim, Henry Whitfield Jr., was traveling along U.S. Highway 80 West when he collided with a vehicle near the intersection of County Road 18, according to Sheriff André Brunson. The crash happened around 6 p.m. Sunday.

Dancing the night away at Sounds and Sirens
A few hundred friends of the Tallassee and Friendship fire departments took over South Ann Avenue Saturday for Sounds and Sirens. The music festival brings back the Street Dance once held in downtown Tallassee — this time to benefit the fire departments. All three acts had local connections to firefighters and performed for hundreds. They sang a mixture of classic covers and original songs. Local group Mother Moonpie performs all across the area. Autauga County native Brandon Jordan played got everyone to dancing and Jessie Wilson closed out the show.

Tallassee’s Delfin reaches 60 goals
Irvin Delfin is in elite company. In the Tigers’ final regular season game of the year, Delfin became just the eighth player in AHSAA history to score 60 goals in a season. He is the first to do it since Andalusia’s Gage Theus in 2021 and he is the single-season record holder for Tallassee.
