MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Team Penske announced Tuesday they have suspended four employees over an incident involving their overtake system at St. Petersburg. The organization suspended Tim Cindric, the president of Team Penske who has accountability for all of the team’s operations. Cindric will miss two INDYCAR races, including the Indianapolis 500.

Deonte Thompson uses love of technology to give back to South St. Petersburg
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A South St. Petersburg native is using his love for technology to help his old neighborhood. Deonte Thompson has been doing that in several ways. Like so many kids, Thompson lived for sports as a young man. He played youth football and basketball for Boca Ciega High School. One day while walking through an alley on his way to the Childs Park Community Center to practice basketball, he made a life changing discovery.
Rays' Jacob Waguespack: Recalled, placed on 15-day IL
Waguespack was recalled from Triple-A Durham and placed on the 15-day injured list due to a shoulder injury Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Topkin notes that the club has elected to promote Waguespack and place him on the injured list so that if he were to have a setback and require a longer shutdown period, Tampa Bay could shift him to the 60-day IL to clear up a spot on the 40-man roster. The club has yet to disclose any details on Waguespack's injury.
