The Baker County Weed District is offering free herbicide at several places in the county starting in May and continuing through the summer and into early fall. Money for the herbicide comes from the county’s property tax levy for noxious weed control.

LA GRANDE — Eastern Oregon Workforce Board is hosting an employer "resource rodeo" in La Grande on May 14, as well as across the region throughout the month. The aim of the workshops is to provide Oregon employers with valuable resources available, such as Eastern Oregon Workforce Board and WorkSource Oregon, and support, according to a press release from EOWB. The resource rodeo will give employers the opportunity to network with peers and gain insights from industry experts.
Woman accused of drunkenly hitting Baker FFA bus faces plea hearing
DESCHUTES COUNTY – A plea hearing has been scheduled for the woman accused of crashing into a bus full of Baker FFA students and teachers. 34-year old Katrina Nicole Dacus of Culver is set to enter a plea June 3. She is charged with 26 Class A misdemeanors, including eight counts of fourth-degree assault, 15 counts of recklessly endangering another person and single counts of DUII, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief.
