Pa. teen goes into cardiac arrest after drinking Panera’s ‘charged’ lemonade
MONROEVILLE, Pa. — On March 9, Luke Adams grabbed a chicken sandwich and a large “Charged Lemonade” drink from a Panera in Monroeville. Shortly afterwards, Luke, who had just turned 18, went with friends to a showing of “Dune 2” at the Cinemark theater at the Monroeville Mall. And until days later, that’s all he remembers.

The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the center in Hempfield. Kennywood celebrates 100 years of its iconic rollercoaster The Thunderbolt
WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) - Saturday was a milestone day and a celebration at Kennywood as one of the park's most iconic coasters turned 100 years old.The Thunderbolt, originally named The Pippin, wooden rollercoaster opened to parkgoers on May 4, 1924. It was designed by coaster builder John Miller and was one of Kennywood's first rollercoasters. That was before the lift hill and helix curves were added in 1968. The Thunderbolt was then named "King of the Coasters" by the New York Times in 1974. Along with the Jack Rabbit and Racer, Kennywood's three wooden rollercoasters have been named a Landmark Ride by the American Coaster Enthusiasts in previous years. A new plaque has been installed outside of the ride in commemoration of the anniversary and Kennywood said that more is on the way this summer to celebrate 100 years of the Thunderbolt. For those heading to Kennywood for the first time this summer, the Thunderbolt is in the Kennyville section of the park by the iconic Potato Patch, where visitors can get the park's famous French Fries. Celebration takes place for Frank Conrad's 150th birthday
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A birthday celebration was held at the historic Wilkinsburg Train Station on Saturday on what would've been the 150th birthday of Frank Conrad, the Pittsburgh engineer who developed the technology that would eventually help broadcast radio signals around the world.The celebration, put on by the National Museum of Broadcasting, featured priceless artifacts and memorabilia, a silent auction, and of course, a birthday cake.The transmitter Conrad built in the garage of his Wilkinsburg home would eventually be used to help launch KDKA Radio. "Our phones, the televisions we watch, the radios we listen to, our computers. All of that started with technology all from this genius. A Pittsburgh inventor right here," said Rosemary Martinelli, a board member of the National Museum of Broadcasting.The Frank Conrad Award for Broadcast and Electronic Media Innovation was also given out for the first time, with the inaugural award going to WQED-FM's Jim Cunningham.
