One person killed, one arrested in North Fort Myers homicide

Update (April 30, 2024):

Perkins appeared in court on Tuesday.

The judge ruled that he will remain in jail at least until his arraignment on June 3rd.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says one person has been arrested for a homicide that happened Sunday in North Fort Myers.

23-year-old Andrew Perkins was arrested Monday morning and charged with second degree homicide.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says Perkins walked out of his home on Roberts Rd and got into an argument with a man in a truck, at the end of his driveway.

Deputies say when the man started to drive away, Perkins shot into the back of the truck several times with a rifle. They say another person who was in the truck was not injured.

Perkins is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday.
