Tome girls fall to Rockbridge Academy

NORTH EAST — The Titans fell to Rockbridge Academy in girls' lacrosse action on Thursday.

Tome opened the game with a 5-2 lead and extended its advantage to 10-5 by the half. After a goal by Audrey DiPietro put Tome up six at the start of the second half, Rockbridge outscored the Titans 9-2 in the third quarter and held a one-goal lead entering the fourth.

The Titans cut the lead down to two with 4:30 to play, before Rockbridge scored a goal with 3:33 remaining to push its lead back to three.

DiPietro finished the game with a team-high 11 goals. Tome's Aubrey Davis finished with three goals. Davis and Sarah Swoboda — Tome's two seniors — were honored prior to the game. The Titans will visit Calverton in Huntington, Maryland on Monday.
