Originally built at the turn of the 20th century and changing hands a few times in its history, the park bounced back from hurricanes and other challenges over the years.

Two Separate Crashes Caused by 18-Year-Old Driver, Charges Pending. An 18-year-old driver is currently facing charges after causing two separate accidents on I-64 in Hampton on Tuesday, March 28th. According to WAVY News 10, the driver was in the left lane heading toward a lane closure and failed to move over. The driver then struck a semi-truck causing it to flip. The accident blocked several lanes, which in turn, caused a second crash.

As police attended to the victim, the dog became aggressive with officers. Police shot and killed the pit bull.
