Traffic delays were on I-64 East in New Kent, multi-vehicle crash caused five miles of backups

UPDATE: According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), all lanes are now open and the scene is clear.

NEW KENT COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced there was a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 East in New Kent County that may cause delays.

According to VDOT, the left travel lane and the left shoulder were closed on I-64 East near Eltham Road due to a multi-vehicle crash.

Traffic was backed up for five miles.
