Megan Moroney Teases New Song For ‘Twisters’ Movie, “Never Left Me”

This might be the best movie soundtrack we've heard since the one featured on the Grammy-winning film A Star Is Born . It was recently announced that a slew of fantastic country artists will be featured on the soundtrack for the new Twisters movie, including Luke Combs, Tyler Childers, Miranda Lambert, The Red Clay Strays and so many more. Of course, the movie is a follow-up to the 1996 blockbuster Twister , and features Daisy Edgar-Jones starring as Kate Cooper, and Glenn Powell starring as Tyler Owens... and I'm already obsessed with the song Miss Megan Moroney penned for the feature film, which is called "Never Left Me." In true emo cowgirl fashion, it's a sad song that finds her missing an old flame and realizing that the relationship might not've ended the way it really should have: "Packed my bags like a bat out of hell, I'm all good al by myself, Here I am again, It's been too long old friend, If floors could cry and walls could talk, I'd hope they say it ain't your fault, Standing on your front porch I can say, I left you but you never left me" The production is simple and stripped back, and I can't wait to hear this one, along with all the other new country music we have coming from some other stellar artists, on the big screen. What a cool moment for the genre... You can listen to the teaser of "Never Left Me" here, which Meg also shared over on her TikTok account: Twisters is directed by Lee Isaac Chung, and is produced by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall ( Jurassic and Indiana Jones franchises) and by Patrick Crowley ( Jurassic and Bourne franchises). The film is due out in theaters on July 19th. Luke's song "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma" was already released as the soundtrack's lead single, and it's badass, so make sure you check that out while you're here too.
