GREENBRIER COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – Diana Miller founded Glorify Dance, a summer camp for girls, in 2017 with hopes of creating a haven for young girls who love to dance. With what is now an enchanting dance troupe that offers programs locally, be sure to catch a performance or become a sponsor for a deserving young lady. The camp is 100% free to any girl.

Miller recently spoke about the history of her dream. She said, ” At Glorify we instruct and guide our dancers on how we can use dance as a form of worship! We aim to teach girls about their value in Christ and, as His daughters, how we can bring glory to His name! We do all forms of dance from ballet to hip-hop and all styles in between! We encourage our girls to bring their unique attributes to Glorify and perform for their creator. I began Glorify with the mission of offering dance classes with a Christ centered focus. We are not tied to any churches, it is a stand alone performing arts non-profit. We offer Glorify Dance for free to any girls between the ages of 4-18. There are no requirements, they come whether they’ve danced their whole lives, or have never danced a day in their lives. We have had dancers with disabilities, such as blindness, autism, mobility issues, ADHD, etc. We’ve also had girls that are very healthy and talented at dance. These girls all help each other and do not mind to step choreography down to accommodate if we have a dancer that needs it. Our goal at Glorify has never been to train perfect dancers that will make a career out of dance, but to train up dancers that are community minded Christ followers, that will make an impact! As for funding, we do year long fundraisers, ask for donations, and have sponsorship opportunities for businesses. There are no costs to dance or participate. Everything needed is covered, including supplies for arts and crafts, snacks and lunches, self defense classes, costumes for recital, etc .”

Registration for Glorify Dance Summer Camp is open until May 30 for their seventh camp. Summer Camp is the last two weeks of June, Teen Week (ages 12-18) and Demi-Dancer Week (ages 4-12). Free camps with classes such as ballet technique, bible, flag worship, cooking, arts and crafts, and self-defense are among the classes available. For your viewing pleasure, select performances throughout the year, such as Easter, Christmas, and other special events. Glorify Dance peeps will be at The Ronceverte Food Truck Festival, which offers delicious food and fundraising for the troupe. Weekly classes may be offered if the funding permits. With your help, a little girl can spend the summer dancing.
