BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Bulloch County voters will decide tomorrow who will lead them through the population boom the area is experiencing.

Three county commission seats are up for grabs – along with the chairman right in the center.

“We need good leadership in Bulloch County,” said resident Dottie Jones. “I just want to make sure my vote counts and my voice counts for the good of Bulloch County.”

County commission incumbents in seats 1A, 2A and 2C are all seeking re-election. There are three vying for Jappy Stringer’s district on the south side.

Sheriff Noel Brown is also seeking re-election. He’s challenged by Keith Howard, running his platform on his experience – 20 years behind the badge.

WSAV spoke to voters. It seems growth and taxes are on the forefront of their minds.

“I’m glad we’re growing but I don’t want us to get so big that it feels like we’re in Atlanta either so it needs to be curbed a little bit,” said David Lumpkin. “I think they’re trying to do that.”

“We pay a lot of taxes, and everybody does and you don’t like that but the prices of everything have gone up so I’m not surprised,” said Jones. “Everything is worth more so you pay more for it.”

Jones tells News 3 she’s already cast her vote, trying to avoid any possible lines at the polls. She was one of the 3,448 who showed up early to vote or sent in a mail-in ballot.

“I’m just committed to having my part and it’s like you don’t have a say if you don’t go vote,” said Jones. “As a citizen of Bulloch County, I just wanted to do my part.”

The polls open up at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. You can check your polling location to know if it’s changed by visiting your My Voter Page online.
