The week will end in Bucks County and South Jersey much the way it started: with gloomy, inclement weather. Worse, this spell of cool and turbulent weather will continue through the weekend, with only a possible sliver of sunlight Friday morning breaking up the grey monotony.

If you’re getting ready to head out for the day or just want to know what to expect, here’s a look at the forecast from the National Weather Service.

What’s the weather in Bucks County?

The broken-record forecast for Thursday in Bucks County calls for more rain, with sub-seasonal temperatures expected.

"Looks like there is a chance of rain Thursday in Bucks County, with some patchy fog in the morning," said Mike Lee, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. "It will probably reach a high of around 65 degrees on Thursday, with winds around 15 MPH."

The seasonal high for the Bucks County-South Jersey region is 74 degrees.

The recent rains haven't been enough for the weather service to issue any coastal or urban flooding warnings, which is reflected in the water level of the Neshaminy Creek near Langhorne.

Currently, the water level of the Neshaminy Creek near Langhorne is 1.3 feet. The actionable flood stage for the Neshaminy Creek near Langhorne is 9 feet.

What’s the weather in South Jersey?

Lee said conditions will be similar in South Jersey on Thursday, May 16, but there will be a slightly less chance of rain.

Otherwise, Thursday will be overcast in South Jersey, with the cloud cover holding highs to the mid 60s.

"You may get away with dodging a few showers on Thursday in South Jersey," Lee said. "The good thing is it will just be some showers. No flooding is expected in South Jersey."

The present water level of the Delaware River at Trenton is roughly 10.18 feet. The actionable flood stage for the Delaware River at Trenton is 20 feet.

Forecasts for Bucks County and South Jersey

Lee said whatever breaks of sun the Bucks County-South Jersey region receives on Friday will serve as a tease only, as the grays will return and run through the weekend.

"Friday looks a little dry. It will be mostly cloudy, but you may see streaks of sunshine, and there shouldn't be any rain," Lee said. "Showers may show up late Friday night around midnight, but otherwise, Friday will be mostly dry."

Friday's daytime high should reach 73 degrees, according to the National Weather Service's 7-day outlook for Bucks County.

Things won't improve this weekend, either.

Saturday is shaping up to be another fully overcast day in Bucks County, as temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 60s.

The streak continues through Sunday, when spotty rain is expected all day, with highs only in the low to mid 60s.

Friday will be gloomy and mostly cloudy in South Jersey as well, but temperatures will rebound a bit into the low 70s, according to the National Weather Service's 7-day outlook for South Jersey.

Similar to Bucks County, the weekend in South Jersey isn't shaping up to be much better.

It will be cloudy for the majority of the day on Saturday, and rain is expected during the afternoon. Temperatures fall back in South Jersey on Saturday as well, reaching only the mid 60s.

Intermittent rainfall is expected on Sunday in South Jersey as well, with temperatures hovering in the low 60s.

Peeking ahead, Lee said conditions should improve to start the next week.

"Starting Monday next week, we should be a lot dryer," Lee said. "You could see some sun Monday going into Tuesday, and temperatures should be in the low 70s to start."
