    72-year-old man pinned, airlifted in Randolph County crash

    RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man was airlifted to the hospital after being pinned in a Wednesday morning crash in Randolph County, according to the Level Cross Fire Department.

    At around 6:17 a.m. on Wednesday, firefighters came to the scene of a crash.

    At the scene, responders found that a car had gone off the road and struck a tree. A person was pinned inside the car.

    The pinned person was extracted, placed into the care of Randolph County EMS and airlifted to the hospital.

    North Carolina State Highway Patrol says the crash involved a 72-year-old Randleman man who was driving east on Providence Church Road, crossed the center line, went off the road to the left and struck a tree.

    Troopers say that the man’s injuries are life-threatening.
