Welcome to the peak of primary election season in Kentucky!

I’m NKY reporter Jolene Almendarez . I’ve been sorting through some of the biggest primary races in the area. That includes a race for state House where two Republican candidates in Boone County are duking it out for the nomination.

Ed Massey and T.J. Roberts are Republicans who represent a divide within the party – one that thrived in a pre-Trump era against more conservative candidates, some of whom have dubbed themselves "Constitutional Republicans."

I asked them both about the most important issues to voters, such as abortion, school vouchers, Donald Trump and immigration. Click or tap here to see where they stand.

Since the race has gotten particularly nasty lately, I also fact-checked some of the rumors going around about both candidates. You can read that here .

Whoever wins the primary on May 21 will face Democrat Peggy Houston-Nienaber in the general election this fall. She does not have a contested primary.
