HORNEYTOWN, N.C. (WGHP) — For decades, Tucker’s Grill has been the place to go for hamburgers in a crossroads community of Forsyth County.

“I just love the small community. I know everybody here, and fifty percent are my kin-people,” said Susie Davis, who has been serving up orders for nearly 40 years. “I just love the people, and I love my job.”

The longevity runs for many here like Nancy Watson. She is known as the Fry Queen.

“I guess people like the way I do the french fries,” said Watson, who starts her day early making 60 pounds of hamburgers by hand. “We put a lot of love in them.”

The corner has been home to a gas station and grocery store for decades. For most of those years, it’s been a grill, too.

“We wouldn’t of bought it if it weren’t for those ladies,” said current owner Jason Motsinger. “Those ladies are everything.”

In addition to Davis and Watson, Judy Sisk and Sara Danner are the ladies behind the counter. They are the secret ingredient to why folks keep coming back.

“It’s just a comfortable little place,” Davis said,

Tucker’s Grill is located on the corner of Highway 66 and High Point Road.

They’re open for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
