    5 dead after wreck in Beaver County Monday

    BEAVER COUNTY, Okla. (KAMR/KCIT) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that five people are dead after a wreck that happened at the Texas state line in Beaver County Monday morning.

    According to the OHP, a Ford F150 was going south on US-83 when for unknown reasons went into the northbound lane and hit a Toyota Camry head-on.

    The OHP said all occupants in the Camry were pinned into the vehicle and died at the scene. The occupants were identified as Clemente Velez, 53, of Perryton; Esther Espino Puentes, of Perryton; Griselda Lomas De Velez, of Perryton; and Maria Ernesti Velez Mendoza of Perryton.

    The driver of the Ford, who was identified as Brett Edwards Philen, 42, of Murchison was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

    The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the crash is under investigation.
